U-Hang Exhibition Opportunity 2008-09

Now Closed

The following U-Hang opportunities for 2008-09 are now closed. The new applications will be announced here, please re-visit for news of new opportunities. If you would like to be the first to hear of our new opportunities please sign up to our mailing list here.

U-Hang will enter its fourth year in 2008-09 providing a further four opportunities for artists or artist groups to exhibit in the Landing Gallery alongside our main exhibition programme and events in the Art Gene Gallery. Circulation areas in the building are also made available to show experimental, wall hung, sculptural and video based works in a challenging 'high status' architectural context.

Each of the four U-Hang exhibitions planned for this year will target artists whose work reflects Art Gene’s focus on exploring the relationship between artists and the regeneration of the social, natural and built environment.

Since its inception U-Hang has resulted in the realisation of 14 exhibitions featuring the work of 20 artists. The U-Hang opportunity has a growing reputation. As a direct result of it being advertised along with other elements of our programme: U-Hang provides an increasingly important showcase for local, regional, national and international artists from as far a-field as Sweden, Greece and most recently Thailand.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 26th September 2008.
