'Shift'  was an International exhibition of European Video Art, and featured new works by Sigrid Coggins (France), McCormack and Gent (UK), Alli Maria Savolainen (Finland) and Alexander Steig (Germany).

'Shift' showed something of the diversity of Video Art production.

'Shift' was a partnership project between Art Gene, Imagepassages: Annecy, France, FORO ARTISTICO: Hannover, Germany and Av-Arkki: Helsinki, Finland. 'Shift' exhibited in each of the four partner countries. Art Gene being the British venue. 
'Shift' was a culture 2000 project supported by the European Commission, Arts Council England-North West, Barrow Borough Council and Cumbria County Council.
